Transition metal catalysis is recognized as an important tool in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, organic materials, and so on. However, a percent level of loading amount of transition metals is often required to obtain the reasonable yield of the desired product. Because of toxicity and sustainability of resources for transition metals, the reducing of the loading amount of transition metals is highly required.
We have developed pincer complexes and supported catalysts having nano reaction space, showing quite high catalytic activity for several organic reactions. In these catalytic systems, total turnover numbers were much greater than 1,000,000. To acquire a useful catalytic system, an investigation is now in progress.
